Thank you so much! I actually do thrift…a lot! Once I got introduced to it, I became addicted lol

I usually thrift at Unique in South Plainfield, Plato’s Closet in Edison, or Goodwill in East Brunswick (All in NJ). Other than that, I just make sure I shop smart. I look for sales and great deals. Cheap prices but good quality :) I also go to TJ Maxx, KMart, F21, H&M, or any retail store. You really never know what you can find. Just have the patience and time to dig through the racks!

Last performance with RDT at DRUDC2013. Memoirs of an Eternal Struggle. A set about honesty through struggle. Correction was made in the tabulations and RDT got 3RD PLACE!!!! It hasn’t even hit yet but I am damn proud of this team because we took a risk as usual and we poured our hearts out on stage. When it comes to body image, I used to be pretty self-conscious because growing up my mom was never satisfied with how I looked. Always picking out the flaws and contradicting herself lol. One minute I’m too “big” and the next minute I’m too “skinny”. Then it escalated because I had a Chinese cultural dance teacher that weighed us on a weekly basis, keeping track of how many pounds we gained or lost.

It was actually when I got to college that I stopped caring. Weird enough I ate whatever I want but all the dancing I did was a workout in itself. Personally, and nothing against anyone who diets and exercises correctly, I don’t want to restrict what I eat. I LOVE FOOD lol. I honestly respect people who go about dieting and exercising in the healthy way. To feel better, to become fit, and to become healthier. But for me, I really just rather eat what I want and keep dancing to maintain that balance. I’ve danced for a good portion of my life and always loved playing sports. To me, exercising should be fun and not become tedious work that needs to be completed. I lost 20 pounds in the first two years of college without even noticing and that was from dancing alone. My advice: make whatever exercise regiment you have a fun one. Do it with friends too to keep yourself motivated and encouraged.

Another thing is, I actually stopped weighing myself. I do not know how much you weigh, if you’re a boy or a girl, but I believe that weight is just a number. To others, it is very important to keep track, but for me, I had no interest in knowing my weight every day. I’ve gone through that and it wasn’t a healthy mindset to have. The last time I weighed myself was probably last year? And it was just out of plain curiosity. When I saw the number, I just shrugged and walked away from the scale.

A lot of people ask me what do I do, how do you get abs, why are you so skinny, etc. I literally just eat and dance. I play sports occasionally when I have the time. I don’t do anything out of the norm. I’ve become satisfied with how I look because I stopped caring. I am not perfect. I’ve learned to embrace my flaws. My friend had this saying and it applied to dancing but in the end you can apply it to anything in your life. It’s not verbatim but basically she said: You don’t necessarily need confidence, but the courage to do something. I am not the most confident person, but I know I have the courage to carry through. And when it comes to my appearance, I have the courage to just be like: Hey this is me. You don’t need to accept it, but I do.

I know most people expect me to say I have a strict diet and exercise plan, but unfortunately I don’t. I’m sorry if that’s not the answer you were looking for or expecting. But if you are really looking for a way to lose weight, get toned, etc., there are a lot of people who are going about it the right way and if that’s what you want, do keep an eye out for those people.

I keep accidentally burning my fingers with the hot glue gun.
I eat like a pig. Sometimes I gross myself out with my eating habits. But then again I love food too much to care lol.

My birthday. Seriously didn’t expect that surprise. Simple but meaningful. That’s how I like things. Sentiment is what matters. Definitely got teary-eyed and made that day memorable. Thank you <3 Can I please just go back to that night?

Every year on my birthday at least a few people ask, “You still don’t drink?” I am proud that I never drank alcohol, smoked, etc and never will. It was my own choice when I was younger and I stuck by it.
Hasn’t even hit me yet. Bittersweet. It’s been a long journey.
